The Life and Times of Abu Hassanah Shushtari

Abu Hassanah Shushtari died in 1269 and was buried in Cairo, Egypt. He is remembered as a Sufi master who held ideas of radical monism which made some other scholars pretty nervous. But it isn't necessarily these poems that he became most famous for, or which are the most significant historically. It's more about his ability to adopt local dialects and poetic forms into his Sufi verse.
