You mentioned consciousness and passing. Do you share David Chalmers' view of the hard problem of consciousness? No, we depart very erratically from each other on that one. So how would your thesis account for someone with full locked-in syndrome who's fully conscious, but there is no overt behavior of the normal sort? Yeah. But if these are things that are making a difference to our experience and there's no way that in any circumstance they could possibly be manifest, then I think they're not making a differenceto our conscious mental life.
