The Buddha's Experience of Enlightenment
Buddhism is an attempt to communicate the Buddha's experience of enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. After he experienced that awakening, he felt he needed to communicate it very naturally. So he had this enlightenment experience in Bhagaya, and then travelled to Sarnath where he knew his previous colleagues in the ascetic life were hanging out. And he wanted to join them and communicate to them what he had experienced,. The form in which he expressed this teaching was in the four noble truths. He outlines the eightfold noble path as to how to end craving and therefore end suffering.
