The Justice Department Promises a Cryptocurrency Crackdown
The Justice Department's head of crypto enforcement has promised a crackdown on illicit behavior. Yu-Nyong Choi said the DOJ is targeting exchanges alongside mixers and tumblers with an emphasis on money laundering. The targetting will be broad, focusing on both the companies that commit crimes as well as those that allow them to occur. She dismissed concerns that a crackdown on large industry players could destroy the broader crypto industry.
