I would just write software for companies who needed somebody like me, sort of a specialist to come in and build a particular app or something. And that was what made my consulting business a high rate business. I loved the intersection of like, I know how to do this and you very desperately need this specific help. That's why I targeted. Part of that tweet thread that you're reading is I whittled down over time. But if you aren't actually doing it daily, then none of these tricks matter. If you really want to learn how to build one, start by learning about other knowledge businesses.
