Do You Use Hard Stops or Mental Stops When Trading?

I kind of know in my head when we're getting into a bad area. Like, I know I can make this back. No problem. But I never let it get to the point where it's a disaster. Do you tend to use hard stops or mental stops when you're thinking about where you'll end a trade? Yes. You know, always regret adding to a scalp. If I'm too early, I come to now just take it off and look for another line.
