How to Control Anxiety in Sports

Choking in sports comes from something a little bit different. Once you begin to observe yourself performing the technique, your executive function takes over and you start to perform it in a way you think you should rather than the way your body knows that you should. When you're anxious, you're incredibly self-monitoring. It is the anxiety that actually triggers the process where your executive function starts to take over. The harder you try to squish it down, the greater it grows.
