The Role of MDMA in Octopus Behavior

An octopus is quite radically different than human beings. They don't have the same kind of brain, all the things that the parts of the brain that's supposedly light up when you do MDMA,. So the common element is that they have these serotonin transporters. In other words, when we measured their pro-social behavior, their desire to spend time in the chamber that had the other octopus in it increased after we gave them MDMA.
