When you were writing about Kiev shortly before, in the week before the invasion in February 2022 and it seemed likely or possible, more than possible, that Russia would invade. You wrote about two possible versions of the city that you had to bear in mind: one where the war never came; another under Russian assault. The city that you've recently returned from doesn't sound quite like either of those possible versions... It's sort of a Kiev gamma that it's the superimposed on one other.
