I was there from 09 to 12, and then I carried on writing columns for America after I left. It was a great period of complete, crazy flux where the rules were being made up in politics. Even we didn't realise quite how long that period would be given that it's still going on now. And luckily for me, they had all these big Dems in government who were leaky as hell. You could sort of previously, the new statesman didn't always have great contacts with non-neighbor governments. ...and they could have site cabinet ministers in the column, but they weren't Tories.
