Yarn Bombing Is a Way to Make Folks Laugh at the Stature
In glasgow they've got a traffic cone on top of the duke wellington's stature, and it's become official. The idea is that we're meant to laugh at that. And what's really happening there is that people are laughing now at the deadness of the statue. They're laughing at death. Well, sculpture is particularly victimized because it refuses to move. That's why coarse, life loving primitive peoples, barbarians cally, are so terrified as sculptures,. It is literally an attempt to overcome death.
