There's a slavish adoption of American trends here. And we see that in the universities here, and therefore we also see it in the publishing companies. The problem is a cultural contagion and not a corporate one. I would like us to be able to laugh it off. But honestly, they have successfully made it almost unpublishable in mainstream newspapers to say slave. They are starting to endanger whole classes of words that pertain to people. It's beyond satire. These people are doing our work for us in making a mockery of themselves.
