Symbolism in Zachariah's Vision
The four chariots in zachariah's vision come forth from between two mountains. The number four seems to represent, among other things, the whole of the earth and each corner of the world. Commentators speculate about their identity, but the most natural way to understand these is by recalling the two bronze pillars, jakin and boaz, that were at the entrance to the temple.
