Nigeria and Japan's Demographics Conundrum
Nigeria has always felt like the natural leader of Africa, and it's rankled when countries like South Africa or Kenya might disagree with that. I think depending how things go in the next decade, certainly Nigeria will start to push its weight around. The stakes are similarly high in Japan, even if the story is very different. Last year, fewer than 800,000 babies were born in Japan, meanwhile, one and a half million people died.
