The artist used mushroom ink to draw and paint the mushrooms that were the subject of this piece. "I felt like it was a whole kind of recursion thing where I drew them with their own materials," she says. The process hasn't changed at all, we've been grinding pigment or turning mushroom into pigment since we could pick up a tool,. She adds: Some people connect with other things and that's okay.
