The Great Tip Project

The 800 acre site, bequeathed to oxford university in 19 forty two, is one of the most studied woodlands on earth. There are signs of ongoing experiments everywhere, netted bags in trees that are catching trpillars and seed traps set up like little trampolines beneath the woodland canopy. But the longest running of all of those scientific experiments is the great tip project. We wring m all of the adult breeders and all of their offspring. And we've been doing this since the late forties, so we have 75 years worth of data. Because birds the great its, only live on average amd just slightly under two years, this means we have over forty
