Desire equals demand minus need. What is left of demand after need has been met? So it turns out the need was for warmth. You bring the blanket and the need goes away. But there's something about the demand that lingers. There's something more to be desired. It's a great shorthand to have here. Whether it's sufficient to get us to the depths we want, I don't know.
