Introduction

The first after-school special I ever saw in spirit was a lifetime movie called 15 and Pregnant, starring Kirsten Dunst. Martin Tossy wanted to create this place to talk about what kids were really going through not from the perspective of an adult. There are two different versions of the history of the after-school specials: Hageographic awe-shucks or super cynical corporate history. The idea is that during the day there was children's programming and during the evening there was family programming. But nobody was speaking to this group of Americans in between.
