As Charlie tells it, their trip was as much about his agenda as it was solving a mystery. In spite of Sarah's desire to keep things platonic between them, he still held on to the hope that a romantic connection might develop. Nowhere would this be clearer than in their eventual encounter with Charlie's neighbor, Joseph Matheny. He'd published an interview with two of the so-called Aung's Hat survivors and a coincidence that Charlie feared might appear suspicious in Sarah's eyes.
