The Descriptive Power of Language Is Pertually Unlimited
How did the human mind acquire this kind of revolutionary new ability? It came from a learning new ways of using abilities that we largely share with animals. And that it involved learning what dennet calls good tricks, such as talking to yourself. Without language, conscious thought would be much, much more impoverished.
