The Impact of Climate Change on Adaptation

The timeline right now is such that at a global scale, we are likely to hit or exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2040 and probably sooner. Polar regions have already seen change well in excess of 1.5C; more tropical regions have seen less of that change. So it really depends on where you are for the specific timeline in terms of those impacts. And so maladaptation is a concept that shows up in this report and it is a warning to people. Adaptation is not inherently do no harm.
