The Insidiousness of Ideology
Ideology is the mechanism by which those ideas proliferate through the people. It manifests in our common sense, it manifests in our popular culture and even in our folk world views. In his terms, althusar would talk about ideological state apparatuses. Things that might formerly exist outside the state or the government as such but end up disseminating ideologies to reinforce control of dominant class.
