When I started there was one method. If you didn't get a label, you couldn't afford to record a record. It was just too expensive. The indie at that time, indie music was sort of a negative connotation because it usually meant cheap sounding or low quality, low budget. And I think over time that evolved to be something that was desirable like this thing that wasn't so pristine. But that's what it meant back then unless you had no other wayUnless you had very wealthy family or high paying job,.
