Papists say human regulations help attain the forgiveness of sin, or merit salvation is unchristian and damnable. Teaching human precepts as doctrines also mentions those who reject the truth. There still remains the papal bag of tricks, filled with foolish, childish articles such as the consecration of churches. The baptizing mocks and ridicules holy baptism, and ought not be tolerated. Also there is a consecration of candles, palms, spices, oats, cakes, et cetera. These things cannot be called consecration, nor are they rather, they are pure mockery and deception. As far as these innumerable, innumerable magic tricks go which we suggest their god and they themselves
