The Risks of Staying Breached at Term

There's some internal fetal risk factors or characteristics that can give the child that propensity to stay breach. Chief among those are CNS abnormalities or hypotonia and possibly some genetic issues. Older maternal age or advanced maternal age is a risk factor for persistent breach at term. And of course as we've already talked about there's these internal fetal characteristics like fetal neuronal impairment and certain congenital anomalies.
