Is the BBC a Good Idea?

There's not an intention to have a BBC view, contrary to what its enemies say. The bigger danger is that the license fee is frankly inectable. And I would think this country would be hugely damaged if we didn't have the BBC. If you go to the United States, people have PBS paid for by subscription,. People would give their ears for... It can't exist in that society. But in this country to have that and secondly, to have the BBC broadcasting to the world, which I think is really, really important.
