The Aim of Science by David Deutsch

In science, we are not actually after justifications that our predictions will continue off into the infinite future. What science is about on Pop's view are testable theories, but not only that. Despite what prominent scientists and philosophers say about Popa, his philosophy is not primarily about falsification. For example, a random person who claims eating one kilogram of grass, Q is your common cold has a testable theory. Any crank with a prophecy about how the world will end next Tuesday has an experimentally testable, falsifiable theory.
