The Importance of Transfers
When you refer to the welfare state, I don't think people really understand what's going on there. A transfer is the government giving money to somebody in exchange for nothing. It would also include things like snap. What we used to call food stamps. You say snap and I think Snapchat because my teenagers say snaps. That's what they mean.
