The first thing you have to do is exhale and breathe. If you can take the fear response out of the customer, you'll see them exhale. Once they exhale, their brains will kick back on, and you'll be able to follow that throgh. Their money is one of the most personal things because their security is a major factor in how they feel about themselves. When somebody's making a big purchase, especially someone who has a majo fear there, never mess with it. My father wisest words: You can have all kinds of great customers but never mess with their money. And he's absolutely correct.
