The Importance of Recovering Material Value

The way we reward ourselves is by buying more stuff. UK governments are looking at bringing in a deposit return system where you pay a deposit on any beverage container. We need to really flip that on its head and say, well, the system has to be built around social practice instead of the other way around. And I think it's important to focus on something broader than economic value and think about material value.
