Paul's Teachings Concerning the Overseer
Paul's teaching here conforms with what he says in romans, chapter 14, verse 20. Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of god. Every thing is indeed clean, but it is wrong for any one to make another stumble by what he eats. It is not food that makes some one clean or unclean. Cleanness or uncleanness comes ultimately from the heart.
