The Future of Labor in the Economic Policy Framework

Rowan: It's highly, highly unlikely that you're going to see any kind of dissent from labor now about the monetary policy framework. Rowan: I think it's more likely that we'll see if and when the conservative party loses the next election, that there'll be an element within the conservative party that will push to challenge the position of the bank. The reason why the governing party will always be constrained in a way that the opposition won't is dissent from what is now the orthodoxy,. particularly for Britain, will risk pressure on sterling.
