The Importance of an Accent in TV
I think I still have somewhat of an accent. But my point of view is a little different than the Asian people that were born here. It's not because you can't play an accent or character. It's because we don't have that much representation out there. Every Asian character that you see on TV amplifies by tenfold, like the uproot character. Back in the day there was no Indian character. So not poor was the only person. And I think playing the jingy-ing character allowed me to be in something like crazy rich Asians. It allowed me to have my own platform, allow me to have something now in space force.
