The Importance of Compassion in Leadership

Steve Tiddellis is not the only economist who's been frustrated by the lack of evidence for what makes a good boss good. Maybe compassion is as important as he suspects, but we just don't have any large-scale empirical evidence yet. No one could really give us a straight answer on what defined a good or bad leader. This has not stopped leadership gurus from promoting their pet theories.
