Microsoft and OpenAI had this idea to bring code to these large language models. GitHub's infrastructure team noticed one day that we were getting hammered with a tremendous amount of clone requests. We figured out pretty quickly that it was actually OpenAI. They were cloning all of our repositories to harvest kind of the data at a get up.
