The Effect of Minimum Wage Increases on Employment
This study was brought to our attention when it published by our friend Marshall Stein, the economist Marshall Steinbaum. The conventional wisdom that we teach in introductory economics is that when you find somebody's something's price has gone up, you buy less of it. So lots of economists used to think that higher minimum wages would mean clients and jobs. And actually recent studies more likely have found not much change in jobs.
