The Role of Technology in Infectious Diseases
The main reason is just that there were by chance more species of animals in Eurasia that lived together in big herds and created opportunities for infectious diseases to emerge. And then when these animals were domesticated, these pathogens jumped over from animals to humans. At first they would have been devastating for the early farmers, but with time our immune systems developed defenses and these diseases became endemic in our population as well.
