Why Do You Need to Strap a Camera to a Tiger Shark?
We've been putting tags on animals for the last 30 years you know 40 years some of these satellite tags but we really don't know a lot about what goes into there almost their daily routine. For this study we kind of utilize that concept and we use the cameras strapped onto these tiger sharks or attached to tiger sharks to basically quantify the density of seagrass that they were swimming over. From that we were able to extrapolate those kind of seagerass density measurements and use it to ground truth information from satellites to basically quantify or measure the the largest seagrasses ecosystem in the world.
