In James 4, James sees how the early Christian community are adopting some of the unhealthy competitive culture from the world. And as comical as this sound, we do tend to do this in everyday life. Often pride is manifested in self-reliance. It is manifested when we rely on our own resources and decisions rather than trusting God or even arts in him for his insight.
