Art Woods: Why do some of us have hair at all? And why aren't we hairy all over like most mammals? He says the answer seems to be that once we became bipedal, and once we started losing our body hair in relation to a thermoregulatory development. Woods: It is likely that one of the reasons that we were able to evolve big brains is because we was able to evolve scalp hair.
