The Purpose of the Do Phase

The curse of knowledge is something I've suffered from for years and years and years. The purpose of the do phase, you're not necessarily, well, you as a teacher, the important thing is if the kids can't regurgitate what you're doing, that's when you need to adapt and respond. That's the kind of key purpose. It's a check on your explanation and communication as a teacher,. As opposed to it being an indication that the kids are learning. Backward fading vastly improves far transfer compared to ordinary example problem pairing. And by doing enough of this doing, what happens is that pupils start to become fluent.
