The Role of Culture in Paleontology
Jurassic Park generated an enormous spike in the number of people who wanted to study paleontology. And I would guess that that sense of dinosaurs as incredibly dynamic social creatures is that lots of paleontologists of a certain generation picked up when they saw the film or whatever has now fed into the whole way that paleontology is done. But having said that, I think culture is quite important in explaining how people then interpret the evidence because the evidence is always limited.
