The Austrian View of What Causes the Financial Crisis
Mises says fraction reserve banking in a market economy causes the boom bus cycle. He also is in favor of free banking, by which he means don't have government regular micro management of banks. But when you go and look into more about what's going on there, it's because he thinks the best way to keep the reserve ratio pretty high is to just have there be open free competition among the banks.
