The Importance of Moderating Influence on the US View of China

Britain is perhaps the most hawkish country in Europe towards China. I think we've begun, belatedly to exercise some moderating influence on the US view. We can criticize China for its human rights policy up in the north and the way it's treated Uighurs. But that's not incompatible. Chinese are not idiots. They know that people will criticize them, but they could still have a relationship with them.
