Naomi Campbell's Overdose
In June 1997, a spokesperson for Naomi Campbell had to deny reports that she'd been rushed to hospital on the Canary Islands after a reported drug overdose. This all began when a Spanish news agency by the name of EFE caught wind that Naomi and her then boyfriend had been arguing late at night before Naomi fell ill with an allergic reaction to antibiotics. Her spokesperson told the LA Times, Ms Campbell is perfectly well and fully recovered and will be leaving hospital. She wishes to make it clear that there is absolutely no foundation whatsoever to the story that she had taken an overdose. Soon after, another statement was released by Naomi's team, clarifying, contrary to press reports, Naomi Campbell was admitted to hospital
