The Pillow-Pyro Trial

John Orr planned to attend a five-day training course on peace officer safety in San Luis Obispo at the end of the month. This was when the Pillow-Pyro was most likely to strike. An undercover agent followed John into Thrifties drugstore and watched as he purchased what appeared to be a pack of cigarettes. The following night, an undercover agent identified himself to the sales clerk and obtained a receipt for John's purchase. A tracking device placed underneath his car revealed no suspicious stops along the way.
