I think people were really shocked that groups like the USDS and 18F not only survived the Trump administration, but thrived in it. It was hard because they were staffed by a lot of people who'd been hired under a different administration and a lot of them decided to leave. And I respect that choice. But there was no shortage of work during those four years that couldn't be done well or in keeping with the values of most of those people.
