Is the D H a Negative?

If the d h goes to a new position, then you lose the dh. Why not just make it another position? I'm genuinely asking if there is a negative. Some team will and the race, we'll find a way to manipulate this a little bit. joe madden has the the guy for the rule on his team. How can we exploit this? What? What advantage do i have?
