The Economic Importance of China's Investment in Guyana
China has been investing lots of money into Guyana, but what is Beijing hoping to gain here? When you look at China's actions in the region as a whole, you could see that China really is trying to get a foothold in the Caribbean and also in South America. Even before oil was discovered in Guyana, China saw a strategic value in Guyana for resources out of South America which could be potentially shipped out of Guyana.
