The Different Sects of the First Century
Malka: By the time Josephus is writing in the late first century, they're distinct groups. He doesn't actually know what separates them. So I think that Jews really do not know what distinguished these sects at their core. And so there are all kinds of social theological and political differences. If Josephus can't say, then Malka can't say.
